The basic technology is more than a century old

Although similar, it’s not to be confused with electrocution, X-ray, nor radiation, any more than a raging flood compares to a natural spring.

Traditional medicine treats the body by chemical means primarily. In stimulating the cell membrane, PEMF effects it electrically. The trillions of cells inside our bodies communicate bio-electromagnetically. The human cell functions as a capacitor. PEMF causes sluggish cells to activate, opening/closing in a fashion similar to hydrostatic pump,  absorbing nutrients and water while emitting carbon dioxide and toxins.

PEMF is a technology more than 100 years old. It was FDA cleared for bone growth in 1979, and for post-operative edema and pain in 1987. In 2004, PEMF was cleared as an adjunct to cervical fusion surgery, and in 2011 it was cleared as a treatment for depressed individuals who are unresponsive to medication.

PEMF surged in popularity in recent decades after NASA employed it for retaining and restoring astronauts’ bone and muscle.

Doctor of Last Resort

Dr. Gary Ryan, DC, has administered PEMF for more than eight years. He’s also personally ‘pulsed’ during that time, part of a training regimen propelling an impressive record as a master swimmer — a sport in which he had never participated until 2006 (see “Meet Dr. Ryan“).

His consultation requests many times involve people frustrated that no matter what they’ve tried, their health problem persists.

Whether it be the MRSA virus, leukemia, diabetic neuropathy or orthopedic pain, PEMF is not a cure, Dr. Ryan contends, but rather “a means of charging the cells so that the body is able to heal itself.”

TOP-GRADE EQUIPMENT

The Science Behind PEMF Cellular Exercise

We use the top-grade PEMF machine on the market, one manufactured by Pulse Centers, which provides from low to high voltage with separate controls for frequency and intensity. The unit also provides simultaneous use of two body-application accessories, such as seen in photo at right. PEMF can be targeted to specific areas, or applied to the entire body.

Thousands of research studies verify the health-enhancing benefits of PEMF. We’ve listed more than 100 citations which you’ll find under the “PEMF Research” tab, as well as categorized by PEMF typical effects on specific conditions. Keep in mind that PEMF does not cure disease, but boosts the body’s ability to generate its own healing.

You may never have heard of PEMF? The short video above provides a basic idea of the technology which has been around in one form another since the days of Nikola Tesla, about 100 years ago. It was popularized in more recent times following NASA’s use in restoring bone and muscle to returning astronauts. The video shows how cellular voltage relates to well-being.
